About the Artist
Michelle Levy graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 2004 and studied music and theater at Brown University. In addition to receiving Honorable Mention in the 2008 international Portfolios.com awards, her work has been discussed on NPR, AOL news, Arkansas Democrat Gazette, and California’s Contra Costa Times, among other publications.

Michelle comes from a family of artists; her grandmother, who painted by the name Micheline George, graduated from L’Ecole Des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France and painted professionally for many years as a (human) portrait artist. Micheline also creates pet portraits (see below).

So, why no human portraits? Michelle says: “...because so far, no pet has ever complained that I made them look fat!”

Incidentally, artisitc ability runs in the family. Michelle's Grandma is also a painter who does pet protraits. These are two of her paintings
